Baked Ziti with Sausage

1 28 0z can crushed tomatoes
1 pound hot Italian sausage casing removed
6 medium cloves garlic minced
¼ tsp crushed red pepper
salt to taste
4 cups water
1 pound penne pasta -use a good quality like dececco
½ cup cream
½ cup grated parmesan
¼ cup chopped fresh basil
ground black pepper
1 cup shredded mozzarella

preheat oven to 475 degrees.

In a 12 inch oven safe skillet non stick skillet cook sausage breaking apart
until no longer pink about 5 minutes

Stir in garlic and red pepper flakes and cook 1 minute stir in the canned
tomatoes and salt to taste. Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes.

Stir in the water then add the pasta. Cover and increase the heat to medium-
high and cook stirring often adjusting heat to maintain a vigorous simmer
until pasta is tender about 15-18 minutes

Stir in the cream, parmesan and basil season with salt and pepper. Sprinkle
mozzarella evenly over the top. Transfer to oven and bake uncovered for 10
